Energy bars are a convenient and on the go snack. But the ready-made bars available in market can be full of loaded sugar and preservatives. So I am sharing a very easy and quick recipe of chewy, nutty and power packed healthy homemade energy bars recipe. These bars are sugar free and are made with Dates, peanuts, coconut, raisins and flax seeds. Once you try this recipe I can assure that you will not buy the snacking bars from market anymore. So lets get started.

Homemade Energy Bars Recipe


Ingredients Required for homemade bars
  •  Seedless Dates- 1 cup
  • Peanuts - 1 cup
  • Flax Seeds- ½ cup
  •  Raisins- ½ cup
  • Desiccated Coconut Powder- ½ cup
Yield: 5-6 Energy Bars

Method/ How to make Health Energy Bars at Home
  • Heat a pan on medium flame and roast peanuts. Stir continuously so that the peanuts do not burn.
  • Take out roasted peanuts in bowl.
  • Now add flax seeds to the heating pan and dry roast them on slow flame for 3-4 minutes. Keep stirring so that seeds do not burn.
  • In a food processor add seedless dates, raisins, roasted peanuts, roasted flax seeds and desiccated coconut.
  • Now, process for 30 seconds and you will see all the ingredients have broken into crumbs like consistency. Using a spoon or spatula scrape the sides ensuring nothing is sticking to the jar.
  • Now process continuously for 1 minute or until all the ingredients gets combined.
  • Open the jar and take out little amount of the bar mixture on your hand and try to make a ball. If the ball comes out well, your energy bar mixture is ready. And if it doesn’t, again process it for another one minute.

  • Now when the mixture it ready, take it out on an aluminum foil, press with your hands and make a thick square.
  • Place this square in the refrigerator and let it chill for 20 minutes.
  • After 20 minutes using a share knife cut the square into bar.
  • Serve and enjoy.

Store the bars:
To store these bars for long time cover individual bar using a plastic wrap and store in refrigerator. You can keep them for 2 months.

Tip:

  •  If you are allergic to peanuts than Instead of using peanuts you can also use almonds.
